Uneventful, perfect weekend.

It was overcast and we were in Fire Island for the weekend. The house was empty, no drama, no throbing music. We talked and watched movies and cooked and walked on the beach and drank and went out dancing.

We hang out with friends.

Friends' support is primordial for a relationship to thrive. And I'm just lucky to have very good friends around me.

West 23rd.

Rhetorical question #34.

When was the last time you had to calculate the square root of a number and why?

So much time and effort wasted in high-school...

I don't know why.

It always comes as a surprise.

Snakes on a motherfucking plane.

We saw SoaP this weekend: everything that you wish would happen in a movie named 'Snakes on a Plane' happens in this movie.
"I could give you a plot summary, but really there's little point. It is as advertised. It's got a plane. It's got snakes. And they attack the passengers. A lot." pajiba

Saturday in Central Park with friends and roller skaters.

Our saturday picnic in Central Park - as organized by Joe - might be on it's way of becoming a tradition. Yesterday we had the second one in a row. And, for the second time in a row, we were all enthralled by the above roller skater. We also love grandma, but for different reasons.

It looks like poop to me.

Workers at Bodega Chocolates discovered a two-inch column of chocolate drippings under a vat that some think looks like the Virgin Mary.

Have you checked the weather for the weekend?

My friend Jeff has now a digital likeness of himself announcing the weather in his blog. Although, in my opinion, his is much hotter in person. And I never saw him wear a shirt before. Just saying.

Sunset.

The World Financial Center as seen from New Jersey on a beautiful summer night.

The triumphant return of KitchenBeard.

KitchenBeard was in town and it was great to hang out with him on Sunday. I missed him.

At one point, he reminded me of when he told me he was moving to San Francisco: I was in a respirator and apparently I closed the whole in my throat with a finger, trying to say: "don't go". How sweet.

Non-blogger

Someone once told me my blog was an application for a boyfriend. If it is, it didn't work, because mine had never read it and I'm still not sure he does now. He is that rare breed called non-blogger. That's how his friend, a wildly popular blogger, introduced us. He dislikes it profoundly to be referred to as such.

I feel that right about now everybody is getting tired of me mentioning 'my boyfriend' (BFK, from now on). At a lovely (bloggers) picnic in Central Park over the weekend, one of the farmboyz was trying to convince us it was OK to be annoying everybody with our PDA's. He had had lots of wine by then and he was probably being totally frank.

Please bear (!) with us while we get through this phase. Except I hope it's not just a phase.

On the way home.

Oh, you hate your job? Why didn't you say so? There's a support group for that. It's called everybody, and they meet at the nearest bar.
Drew Carrey
I can't believe I'm complaining about work. Does it mean I'm re-integrated in society? Complaining about work seems to be a lait motif in any social gathering. Job complaining is the new weather...

Anyway, I had had a terrible week at the office and was frustrated when I left work last friday until, walking down 7th ave on the way home I saw the promo for the upcoming PSB concert (Oct 14 @ Radio City) and remember that my bf had surprised me with tickets for it (although Joe gets credit for actually ordering them).

And then the world was fine again.

Rethorical question.

Am I the only person that thinks this picture of Fidel Castro wearing an Adidas track-suit on yesterday's NYTimes weird?

The view from my window.

I was having breakfast this morning when I realized that 'that building' looked finished. I swear the top panels were not there yesterday. I have to go check it up close.

Best Burgers in NY.

Southeast corner of Madison Square Park. Before you go, check if the line is long. The picture above was taken Sunday around noon.

Rio still a popular destination or unintended consequences of global warming?

"Brazil's air force and navy will transport more than 100 penguins to Antarctica next month after the flightless birds were stranded on Rio de Janeiro beaches.

Penguins arrive from the Antarctic Circle on ice floes that melt in the vicinity of Brazil's shore and the birds wash up on Rio beaches every winter." Reuters
