In a country where anything goes.
"Brazil isn’t thrilled with the Turistas trailer, which flashes the lines, “In a country where anything goes … anything can happen.” Says Miguel Jeronimo of New York’s Brazilian tourism office, “It’s not whatever goes in our country!” This isn’t the first time Brazil has taken issue with its portrayal. In 2002, a Simpsons episode showed Brazil as filled with bisexual men and mad monkeys. After a tourism agency threatened to sue, the producers issued this statement: “We apologize to the lovely city and people of Rio de Janeiro, and if that doesn’t settle the issue, Homer Simpson offers to take on the president of Brazil on Fox’s Celebrity Boxing.”"

Those words.
Not much left to say about the Kramer affair except that I read this and thought it made a very interesting point. I have, on occasion, referred to fags that annoyed me as fag in a derogatory ton of voice - am I homophobic? Hit me.
A possible explanation (not an excuse, there is a difference) for Michael Richards' rant is one I have often observed. It is that when one person makes another person extremely angry, in this case by interrupting the routine of a washed-up former celebrity, the offended person, in his rage, says not necessarily what he truly believes, but rather what he believes will hurt that person the most. Therefore, it's possible that Richards was not, in a Freudian slip, revealing his inner racist; but rather was saying that which he felt would most offend the person who offended him. Only the people who know him best know which is the case. The only thing I know is that this episode won't end his career. 'The Michael Richards Show' already took care of that. As you know, I love this building.
Don't worry - it's being fixed already.

Mueck.
The Ron Mueck show at the Brooklyn Museum is one of the most provocative events I've been to in a while: you go from empowered to overpowered back to empowered as you move through the pieces and their scale changes. Highly recommended.

That would explain some of it.
It was a very long weekend: no more Cuervo Gimlets - from now on, Patrón Silver only.
Experts say that the type of alcohol you drink does make a difference, but for various reasons. Among the most important is the amount of congeners (pronounced CON-juh-nurz) — complex organic molecules — in a particular drink. Impurities in poorly refined spirits like cheap vodka can also play a role, but congeners, which are common in darker liquors, seem to have the greatest effect.

How to be interesting.
"The way to be interesting is to be interested: You’ve got to find what’s interesting in everything, you’ve got to be good at noticing things, you’ve got to be good at listening. If you find people (and things) interesting, they’ll find you interesting.

What?
Refreshingly honest reaction, unacceptable behavior. To others, not me. I personally loved it.

Go out and vote!
And, also, go see Borat. It is outrageously funny.
In this clip (not in the movie) he addresses the Arizona Republican Comitee.

The Spin.
Consider the hypothetical case of two men. Both are inclined toward homosexuality. Both from time to time hire the services of male prostitutes. Both have occasionally succumbed to drug abuse.I love all the gossip/scandal/hypocrisy brought up by Ted Haggard's affair BUT I think that ultimately it's going to be - again - a disservice to the gay cause.
One of them marries, raises a family, preaches Christian principles, and tries generally to encourage people to lead stable lives.
The other publicly reveals his homosexuality, vilifies traditional moral principles, and urges the legalization of drugs and prostitution.
Which man is leading the more moral life?

Favorite song of the moment.
Goldfrapp: Fly Me Away (Carl Craig Mix).
I usually don't care for remix albums but Goldfrapp's We Are Glitter is such an amazing improvement over their last album, Supernature (which I thought was great) that I can't stop listening to it.
Also, Fly Me Away, the original version, live on 'Top Of The Pops'.

All Hallow's Eve 2006.
I don't think I have ever had so much fun on Halloween.
The scary thing about the guys above - hanging out at Ty's and on Christopher Street last night - is that at some point they removed their masks and we didn't even realize it.
Even tough people can get very creative, the simplicity of my friend's costume, The Flasher, made him the star of the night. Specially after he made his costume even simpler.
